Research

I am a postdoctoral researcher specializing in peatland ecology, with a particular focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and carbon balance. My work investigates the effects of rewetting on carbon dynamics and GHG fluxes in peatland ecosystems. Using advanced methodologies, such as the Eddy Covariance technique, I explore how rewetting practices influence the exchange of gases like carbon dioxide and methane between peatlands and the atmosphere.

My research is crucial for understanding how managing peatlands—especially through rewetting—can mitigate climate change by restoring carbon balance and reducing the release of harmful GHGs. I believe my work is instrumental in bridging knowledge gaps about the role of peatlands in global carbon cycles and offers practical insights into sustainable land management practices aimed at enhancing carbon sequestration.
