Two new professors – and two inaugural lectures

Crop health will be highlighted when two new professors at the Department of Agroecology, Aarhus University, give their inaugural lectures on 3 May 2019.

Two new professors have been appointed at the Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University: Mogens Nicolaisen and Mogens Støvring Hovmøller. They will give their inaugural lectures at AU Flakkebjerg on 3 May 2019 where everyone is welcome.

The title of Mogens Nicolaisen’s lecture is ”Plants, pathogens and microbiomes”. He will speak about the potential for using the soil microbiome to improve disease resilience in crops. 

Mogens Støvring Hovmøller’s lecture has the title ”The impact of plant disease on global food security”. He will elaborate on the occurrence and spread of plant diseases with an emphasis on the escalating threat of wheat rust fungi globally and the international efforts to mitigate the effects of these.
