Successful BarleyMicroBreed Kick-off meeting in Helsingør, Denmark

28-30 November the team behind the EU-funded project BarleyMicroBreed met in person for the first time at our Kick-off meeting in Helsingør, Denmark. We had a great meeting and used the opportunity to discuss in detail important aspects of the field trials and sampling methods in the project.

Timing, data generation, and data handling will be essential to successfully explore the interactions and connections between barley plant genome, root phenotypic traits and the root associated microbiome and ultimately exploit these insights in breeding strategies for drought resilient barley cultivars.

We also touched upon many other important aspects of the project such as how to communicate our work and results in the best way.  We even had the time for a guided tour at Kronborg Castle.
