EuroBlight Zoom technical meetings in 2021
EuroBlight will organise four subgroup meetings and one online workshop to replace the physical workshop originally planned for May, 2021
Zoom meetings will replace the physical workshop that is now postponed until 2022
The registration for the EuroBlight virtual workshop is now closed
All participants will receive a more detailed program as well as the link to the Zoom meeting room on Monday the 10th May after lunch. In the mail we will also attach the draft EuroBlight statement to be discussed on the 12th may in plenum. This statement is based on the discussions on four subgroup meetings carried out during the last 1½ Month

Title: European P. infestans monitoring initiative - Results from 2020 and campaign in 2021.
Responsible: David Cooke, Geert Kessel and Jens G. Hansen
Discussion points: Results of genotyping 2020 and sampling campaign 2021. How to manage and maintain shared facilities and services e.g. Smartphone App for surveillance and monitoring (sampling), SSR genotyping at JHI, databases for storage, analysis and display of data at AU, access to live isolates at WUR. How can we establish a research infrastructure to be prepared for emerging threats?

Title: New control strategies in the context of the EU Green deal - Farm to Fork strategy
Responsible: Geert Kessel, Pete Skelsey, Jens G. Hansen, Erland Liljeroth and Didier Andrivon.
Discussion points: Slowly but surely, DSSs and Precision agriculture are claiming their place in modern agriculture. Integrated pest and disease management (IPM) is becoming mandatory with the European Green Deal and the Farm to Fork strategy. How can EuroBlight and other relevant stakeholders contribute to this transition? Can we organise a European potato demonstration-farms network - to demonstrate technologies that facilitate the adoption of the Farm to Fork strategy?

Title: Alternaria subgroup meeting

Discussion points: Research results on EB (DSS, field trials), fungicide resistance monitoring, cultivar resistance / breeding goals, EB control without Mancozeb, use of alternatives to prevent and control early blight, Coordinated activities in 2021, including field experimental work

Title: The EuroBlight fungicide table, and Biological control agents, plant resistance inducers and growth stimulants

Discussion points: Updates of the EuroBlight protocols and fungicide tables. BIO EuroBlight - status and perspectives. Input from AgChem companies and other businesses on new products (research part). How can we work together to build shared services re sustainable use of fungicides and biologicals?
