This workshop in York is organised by EuroBlight - a potato late blight network for Europe and will take place from 12-15 May 2019 at Park Inn hotel, York. The local host is ADAS, www.adas.uk.
The main objective of the workshop is to present and discuss recent results on integrated control of late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and early blight (Alternaria spp.). Specific themes will be:
The global genetic landscape of P. infestans – implications for practice
Pathogen adaptation to fungicides and host resistance
How to develop and adopt innovative and sustainable control strategies on regional scales - including the use of alternative products
Host-pathogen interactions and characteristics
Epidemiology and modelling
Control strategies
Alternaria
Subgroup meetings are held during the workshops to organise harmonised protocols and co-ordinate and integrate research.
Sunday 12 May | 18.00 registration opens, get-together with light meal 19.00 -21.00. It will be possible to arrange side meetings during the day as required. |
Monday 13 May | Plenary sessions and poster session. City walk and light dinner at a local restaurant. |
Tuesday 14 May | Plenary sessions, poster session and discussions in subgroups. Conference dinner at Park Inn Hotel. |
Wednesday 15 May | Wrap up from subgroup meetings and discussions in plenum. |
Wednesday 15 May | Post workshop tour visiting Cockerill pre-packing / AHDB discussion, UK practices, research questions etc. |

You must pay for your own travel to York and accommodation
We will pay for all meals, coffee, meeting facilities, conference dinner, and the guided citytour.
Accompanying people can participate in all social arrangements - including the guided citytour and the conference dinner at a price of 100€. The payment for accompanying people should be made in cash as Euros at the registration desk.

In the case of over-registration, the organizing committee will review participation based on active contributions. This decision will be announced no later than the 7th of February.
During registration you will be asked to upload an abstract of your proposal for an oral or poster presentation. The scientific committee will decide on the programme and announce not later than 1 February 2019, wheather your abstract was designated as an oral or poster presentation. After this announcement you will have the opportunity to upload a final version of your abstract, which will be made available on the EuroBlight website.
