Research

My research focuses on animal welfare, particularly the development of welfare indicators and methods for assessing animal welfare at both herd and group levels. My work also includes studies on behavior, health, and management in livestock production, aiming to improve the welfare of farm animals.

 

Teaching activities

I am study leader of our BSc and MSc 'Animal Science' and 'Veterinary Medicine' educations.

I am study manager for our BSc and MSc 'Animal Science' education and our Master program 'Welfare Assessment in Animal Livestock Production'

I am course responsible and I am teaching varies courses in the mentioned educational programs.

 

Collaborations

I have contributed to several international research and collaboration projects, including EURCAW-Pigs, where we develop guidelines and assessment methods for the welfare of slaughter pigs in various production systems. 

Consultancy

My research also supports advisory work and policymaking by providing a scientific foundation for improvements in animal welfare legislation and practice.
