Industrial postdoc will find a solution for management of ergot in rye

How does ergot infect rye, and which genes play an important role in resisting the disease? These are questions researchers from Department of Agroecology have explored as part of an industrial post doc collaboration with Nordic Seed. The results will pave the way for better understanding of the complex mechanisms of ergot, which can be utilised in novel strategies for ergot management.

Annual trials with applied plant protection

Every year, the National Center for Food and Agriculture publishes a report on Applied Crop Protection. The report shows the results from testing pesticides and other forms of plant protection.

Suppliers of pesticides, advice from SEGES, and local counselling centers have been used in the trials, but have not been involved in the actual creation of the report.

The report is based on experiments that are funded from many different sources. This is specifically stated for each chapter in the report, but covers i.a. input from the agrochemical companies, processing companies, the Kartoffelafgiftsfonden, Sukkerroeafgiftsfonden, Frøafgiftsfonden, as well as direct funding from Aarhus University.
