The focus of this research area is on the modelling of agricultural production and nutrient flows, with a particular emphasis on temporal dynamics and the dynamic, process-oriented interactions within and between different farm components.
The components include livestock, manure management systems and crop rotations. Modelling at this scale will enable trade-offs between production and environmental pollution to be examined and will highlight synergistic or antagonistic interactions between farm management interventions designed to increase production or reduce environmental pollution.
