Monitoring and management of water quality is a fundamental component of sustainable agricultural practices and we focus our research efforts on a better understanding and model description of the processes of importance for the loss of nutrients (particularly N and P) from cultivated agricultural land through drainage, surface run-off, or from transport to deeper soil layers.
Our research results in improved methods and new maps for risk of N and P losses from farmland to the aquatic environment. Additionally, our work is published in international, peer-reviewed journals and contribute to relevant educational programs. Finally, the team provides research-based services to the Danish public sector regarding sustainable crop production and food production, climate, and greenhouse gases.
