I am an internationally trained molecular biologist and biochemist with a research profile centered on plant metabolic and cellular regulation. I have held research and leadership positions in Norway, Canada, Greece, and the USA across academic, governmental, and industrial sectors.
My work integrates genome editing, multi-omics, reverse genetics, cisgenesis, bioinformatics, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology to dissect regulatory networks and engineer crop traits. I have particular expertise in organelle biology and signaling, with a strong focus on peroxisome function and peroxisome-organelle crosstalk for improved plant oil production and stress resilience.
I previously directed a competitively funded independent research program supported by the Young Talent Independent PI Grant from the Norwegian Research Council. Alongside research, I am deeply committed to teaching, student mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration at Aarhus University.
