Long term experiments

AGRO’s long term experiments

The Department of Agroecology maintains a number of long-term experiments, the oldest of which was established in 1894. What they share is their contribution to answering pressing societal questions related to both climate and the environment.

These long-term experiments therefore constitute important research platforms that the department takes pride in maintaining and further developing.

“The long-term experiments are among the oldest assets the department possesses, yet they are also some of the most forward-looking. They serve as platforms that generate knowledge and provide answers to pressing societal questions.”

Take a trip through history

The video communicates the unique long-term experiments in Askov—one of the world’s oldest experimental sites for agricultural research—and highlights how these trials, over many years, have generated invaluable knowledge about soil fertility, nutrient management, and sustainable cropping systems.

The video also illustrates the many different eras that Askov has endured.
