During his/her PhD studies, Andreas Jensen researched life cycle assessment of organic vegetable production in Denmark. A life cycle assessment investigates the whole production chain in order to estimate environmental impacts, and identify where sustainability can be improved. Andreas Jensen have identified the main sources of impact from organic vegetable production, and evaluated the influence of different production choices. Furthermore, he has identified and discussed current limitation for life cycle assessment of organic vegetables.

The research findings contribute to determine the main impacts of organic vegetable production, and contribute to improving the sustainability of production by identifying the potential for improvement.
