My research evaluates agri-food system sustainability using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to balance economic viability with ecological goals. I focus on evaluating European food ecolabels, developing agricultural eco-compensation standards based on Ecosystem Services, and improving biodiversity impact assessments within LCA. Additionally, I assess strategies to mitigate GHG emissions across agricultural value chains to advance sustainable agroecosystem management.
I am dedicated to bringing real-world agricultural sustainability research into the classroom. Since 2021, I have regularly guest lectured for the Bachelor's course Agriculture in a Global Context, and I currently teach the Master's course Environmental Management at the Farm Level. I specialize in leading small classes, recently contributing to courses like Bæredygtigt Dyrehold (Sustainable Animal Husbandry) and Organic farming systems analysis at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
My interdisciplinary, international collaboration has led to knowledge breakthroughs within the area of agricultural sustainability and ecosystem services. I recently collaborated with economists at UNIVPM to develop eco-compensation frameworks for sustainable farming, and I have partnered with environmental scientists across Europe to innovate biodiversity LCA methods. I regularly engage with a broad network across academia, government ministries, and NGOs to promote sustainable agricultural practices and public awareness.
