Short project description

The project will be conducted in collaboration with SustainableEnergy (VedvarendeEnergi), an Aarhus-based NGO working with climate change adaptation and agroecology among smallholder farmers in the Lake Victoria region. SustainableEnergy is welcoming students with an interest in climate change adaptation and agroecology among vulnerable smallholder farmers in East Africa. Through our CISU-funded programme DaCCA (2024-2027), the NGO and local partners are working to strengthen resilience among smallholder farmers in Kenya and Tanzania through trainings on agroecological practices based on local needs.

  • The students project or thesis could focus on
  • Analysing baseline data from lab-processed soil tests from Tanzania
  • Analysing different kinds of survey data, e.g. baseline with FAOs Tool for Agroecological Performance Evaluation (TAPE) or continuous survey data with beneficiary farmers in both counties.
  • Making scientifically founded recommendations for areas of attention for improving soil health in our programme areas
  • Any great idea you have that will strengthen our work
