Lupin cultivars for high quality food ingredients

Main subject area: Crop cultivars, crop physiology and agronomy. Lupins for food.

Short project description

Lupins are promising as a new crop for locally produced plant-based proteins to reduce climate impact of food production. Lupin cultivars are in 2025 grown in four European countries (Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy). The aim is to investigate the effects of genetic material and agronomic conditions on the yield and quality of proteins and other constituents of grains for production of ingredients to the food industry. You will take part in the field trial situated in Denmark at the research station AU-Auning, Djursland and the evaluation of agronomic crop performance of the lupin cultivars.
