My name is Mogens S. Hovmøller. I am professor and leader of GRRC.
My expertise is in population genetics, evolutionary biology and epidemiology of crop pathogens in a changing environment. Focus on genetic variability for traits under selection as well as non-selective traits (random DNA-fragments), rates of evolution and dispersal. Assessment of host resistance as expressed from leaf tissue to crop canopy. Host-pathogen systems: Rusts and powdery mildews and new emerging diseases on cereals with emphasis on wheat rusts. More...
My name is Annemarie Fejer Justesen. I am Senior Scientist. My expertise is in molecular plant pathology, fungal genetics, genetic diversity and evolutionary processes in fungi, development of molecular tools for identification, detection and quantification of species, strains, chemotypes etc.
At GRRC I work on molecular genetic diversity of yellow rust populations, rust species identification in Barberry and grasses, development of an experimental system for genetic studies. More...
My name is Mehran Patpour. I am a researcher and my research focus on wheat stem rust epidemiology, stem rust pathotyping and evaluation of resistance of wheat genotypes to predominant stem rust races.
My name is Tine Thach. I am a scientist and plant pathologist working with epidemiology of different diseases in wheat, rye and sugar beet. One of my main research areas is the wheat yellow rust pathogen, Puccinia striiformis. I am responsible for the SSR genotyping and population genetic analyses of yellow rust samples at GRRC as well as alignment of yellow rust SSR genotyping results between different labs. My new research areas includes developing protocols for greenhouse and field trials with the sugar beet pathogens, Uromyces betae (causing rust of beet) and Cercospora beticola (causing leaf spot on beet) and some of the main pathogens of rye in collaboration with private companies. My name is Julian Rodriguez-Algaba. I am currently a Postdoctoral researcher at the GRRC. My research falls within the field of plant pathology with a specific focus on wheat rust fungi (the yellow and stem rust fungi) aiming to develop improved disease management strategies with direct implications to achieve a sustainable wheat supply. The focus of my research addresses fundamental aspects of the infection biology and population genetics of rust fungi occurring on the cereal and the sexual host (Berberis species). Recently, my research has been directed to identify the causal rust species infecting the sexual host at an European scale by using in vivo experiments and molecular diagnostic tools such as DNA sequencin. My name is Ellen Frederiksen. I am senior laboratory assistent, responsible for the foreign (outside Europe) yellow-, leaf- grass- and stem rust isolates, powdery mildew on wheat and barley, multiplying, harvesting. AFLP, databases. Greenhouse and laboratory coordination. More...
My name is Chris Sørensen. I am a researcher dealing with infection biology and aggressiveness of Puccinia striiformis, Microscopy and Image analysis. More...
My name is Poul Lassen. I am database expert and web programmer responsible for the Wheat Rust Toolbox. I will be responsible for databases and web tools to be developed for data storage and data management at GRRC.
My name is Jens Grønbech Hansen. I am project manager and international coordinator regarding the Wheat Rust Toolbox and related activities at GRRC.
